  • Use EN-51987 for 2017 to Current

The injectors on 6.6L diesels can be very difficult to remove from their bores, especially on high-mileage engines. The injector hold-down bracket has changed from prior designs for the L5P; previously essential injector remover EN-49774 does not fit the new design. Once the retaining bolt is removed from the hold-down bracket on an injector, EN-51987 is placed into the retaining bolt bore. A socket and extension are placed onto EN-51987, and used to rock EN-51987 and the injector hold-down bracket. Rocking the bracket with EN-51987 un-seats the injector, and allows it to come free from its bore. Unapproved methods will damage the injector or surrounding components.

Applications Include 2017 and newer trucks (Silverado, Sierra) with 6.6L Diesel engines (RPO L5P).
